Exporting goods from China is a common practice, but certain regulations and requirements need to be followed to ensure a smooth process. There are three steps to the process of exportation namely; registration of export license or permit, preparation of required documents, and customs clearance. The first thing to do is to acquire an export license by applying for a permit to export your goods. An exporting company has to make sure its products meet the standards of the importing country and that of the country’s Ministry of Finance and Trade. The next step for exporters is to obtain the required documents from suppliers, which they will present to clearing agents for the final step; customs clearance. 

Steps to exporting out of the country

 The following are some general steps you can follow when exporting goods from China:

Confirm if your product is allowed for export

Certain products may be restricted or prohibited from export from China. You should check with the relevant authorities to confirm if your product is allowed for export.

Obtain an export license

You will need to apply for an Export License from the relevant authorities such as the Ministry of Commerce or General Administration of Customs, depending on the type of product you are exporting.

Comply with customs regulations

 You will need to comply with both Chinese and destination country customs regulations. This may include paying customs duties and taxes, providing accurate information about your goods, and adhering to any restrictions or regulations.

Choose a freight forwarder

A freight forwarder can assist with the logistics of shipping your goods. They can handle customs clearance, documentation, and transportation of your goods.

Prepare the necessary documentation

You will need to prepare documentation such as invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin for your shipment. The specific documents required may vary depending on the type of product you are exporting and the destination country.

Ship your goods

 Once all necessary preparations are complete, you can ship your goods to the destination country.

The process of exportation

All necessary export documents required to clear the exported goods through the country’s port as well as satisfy the customs’ laws and regulations have to be provided by the exporter. This is why knowing the right documents to prepare is quite substantial to the export process. Required Documents to Submit

They include the following: customs entry document and bond, legal undertaking, export license, purchase order, certificate of origin and Insurance, bill of lading, transit documents, fiscal Import tax, et cetera.
