The Sudanese Customs Authority is under the supervision of the Ministry of the Interior. Its website is out of date and contains very little useful information. Trade stumbling hurdles

  • The National Antiquities Authority is responsible for providing the approval of antiquities.
  • Permission to operate must be obtained from the Ministry of Energy for major power generators.

The standards authority, the Department of Environment and Food Protection, and the Ministry of Health must all give their approval before food may be considered safe to eat, and also a valid health certificate issued by the Ministry of Animal Welfare is required for all live animals. Products that are brought in from other countries

Products from other countries are subject to the customs tariff categories with the following requirements;

  • A banking certificate from any commercial bank (I.M.)
  • A certificate issued by the General Authority for Standardization and Metrology
  • Bills of Lading
  •  Invoices
  • Authorization for the carrier to deliver the goods;
  • The Country’s Official Birth Document 
  • A certification from the authority that is both designated and competent, if the commodity is restricted.
  • Examination of the packaging 
  •  Verification of the insurance documents

The following kinds of goods are not allowed to be brought into the country: 

  • potassium bromide
  • alcohol 
  • Gambling games 
  • Drugs other than those permitted for medical study 
  • Weapons, ammunition, and explosives that do not have a license to be sold in the country
